The Army Heritage and Education Center's collections of manuscripts are primarily personal papers of individuals who served in or worked closely with the U.S. Army. They include several hundred general officers who served in the mid-20th Century as well as thousands of more junior officers and enlisted men. The manuscripts in our archives are largely personal papers, such as letters, diaries, and reminiscences, but many collections contain retained official documents.Strong holdings start with the Civil War era. There are a few large sets of official documents, most notably the Army War College Curricular Archives. The digitized manuscripts and archives are only a small proportion of our total holdings of such items.
Digital Documents can be searched or browsed.
